GXU Medical Imaging respects your rights to privacy as laid out in the Privacy Act 1988 and the National Privacy Principles 2001. In order for us to provide a radiology service we need to collect information from you. This may include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Address
- Phone Numbers
- Medicare or DVA Number
- Pension or Health Care Card Number
Sometimes we may need to contact your Doctor, Medicare or other healthcare providers for further information including obtaining results of previous relevant tests and in relation to the processing of your account or results. We use this information to:
Provide diagnostic radiological imaging and reporting
Process your account with Medicare/DVA/Workers Compensation
We do not disclose your information to any other third party without your consent unless subpoenaed by a court. We store your hard copy and electronic records securely in our practice, only accessed by staff. All hard copy records are destroyed once we are no longer obliged by law to hold them.
If you wish to access any information held by us, about you, please submit your request in writing to the Practice Manager. We will review your request and respond within 30 days in writing. By law, we are entitled to charge a fee for this service.
